Overview

Valex Cloud offers a range of instance flavors tailored to meet different performance and workload requirements. When you provision a virtual machine, you choose from flavors that determine the compute, memory, and networking capabilities of your instance. Our available flavors are grouped into three categories:

  • Standard Flavors:
General purpose instances with CPU frequencies ranging from 2.0 GHz to 3.9 GHz. Ideal for balanced workloads such as web servers, small databases, and development environments.

  • High-Speed Flavors:
Compute-optimized instances featuring CPUs with 4.0 GHz+ speeds. These are optimized for applications that demand high processing power, such as data analytics, real-time processing, or high-performance computing tasks.

  • Cloud Dedicated (CDS) Flavors:
These instances run on dedicated hardware, providing additional resource isolation. While they use our standard hardware, they offer a dedicated environment for workloads requiring consistent performance and security isolation.

Key Points

  • Automatic Compute Host Selection:
The system automatically assigns instances to the most appropriate hardware based on your chosen flavor.

  • Scalability:
Easily scale your deployments by selecting different flavors as your application requirements evolve.

  • Custom Flavors:
For specialized needs, contact support to create custom flavors that suit your workload.

Best Practices

  • Match Workloads to Flavors:
Choose standard for everyday applications, high-speed for compute-intensive tasks, and CDS for workloads requiring dedicated resources.
  • Benchmark & Monitor:
Test your applications with different flavors to determine the best fit and monitor performance to ensure optimal resource usage.
